The WCOOP is the biggest yearly online poker tournament series. The World Championship of Online Poker takes place every fall at the online poker site PokerStars. PokerStrars has now released the tentative 2009 WCOOP schedule.
The WCOOP tournaments are known to have extremely large guaranteed prize pools, and in fact several people have already become millionaires thanks to the WCOOP tournaments.
Last year the WCOOP Main event had a massive over $10million prize pool –awarding more than $1million for the winner of the 2008 WCOOP Main Event champion. This year the guaranteed prize pool in the main event is $10million however it wouldn’t be a big surprise if once again the actual prize pool would end up being much bigger.
Last year total of around $39s and this year the guaranteed alone are $40 million. The 2009 WCOOP features all the most popular poker games such as Texas holdem, pot limit Omaha, 7 card stud, 5 card and many more. The smallest direct buy in to a 2009 WCOOP event is $215, and the biggest tournament has a buy in of $25,000. However you can find satellites to all the tournaments including the main event which has a buy in of $5,200.
